Ju Dee Ang

Violin / Viola

Originally from Singapore, Ju Dee Ang completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree under the guidance of Sally Chisholm at the University of Wisconsin, where she was a member of the graduate string quartet. Previously, she completed a Master of Music degree at Indiana University, where she studied with Atar Arad of the Cleveland string quartet and also studied violin/viola pedagogy with well-known pedagogue Mimi Zweig.

Ju Dee has been teaching the violin and viola since 2007, and has experience teaching a wide variety of ages and levels. In the Vancouver area, Ju Dee performs with the Pro Nova quartet (pronova.ca), which has had a regular concert series on the north shore for over 30 years. She has also performed with the Vancouver Island Symphony and the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and is an extra musician with the Vancouver Symphony. Aside from playing classical repertoire, Ju Dee has played in the pit orchestra for the Phantom of the Opera (Australian cast), and has been on stage with Tan Dun, Dennis DeYoung, George Lam, Andrea Bocelli, Richard Clayderman, and popular Taiwanese band Mayday (Wu Yue Tian). Ju Dee is fluent in English and Mandarin.
