Ben Steinberg Musical Legacy Award

The Ben Steinberg Musical Award is a prize given to the most promising young Jewish-Canadian musician. This music award has two components:

1. a cash prize of $1000.
2. a concert recital in Toronto in May 2008.

Who is Ben Steinberg?

Artsway Ambassador

The UBC Artsway Ambassador is a program that allows musicians to perform in care facilities in the Lower Mainland. The other honoured ambassadors are: Heather Beaty, Devon Joiner, Debi Wong, Jeremy Bowes and Damien Jinks. Former ambassadors to the Artsway Ambassador program are Canadian music greats: Robert Silverman, Terrance Dawson and Jane Coop. Jared Miller is one of four UBC students/ensembles to be honoured in this music program.

Victoria Symphony Orchestra

The Victoria Symphony Orchestra has chosen the first movement of Mr. Miller's orchetral piece in progress "To B-Flat" as one of the eight pieces which the Victoria Symphony Orchestra will perform during their orchestral reading session on April 1st, 2008.
