The University of Miami Frost School of Music Piano Performance and Musician Training Workshop

Dates of classes: July 27, 2009 to August 5, 2009

A program of study and performance for gifted young pianists and teachers that integrate lessons with world-renowned University of Miami-Frost School of Music artist faculty with daily classes in theory, technique, sight-reading, improvisation, memorization and ensemble music making.

The workshop is designed for both classical and jazz musicians. This is a three-tiered program:

1. Training Camp for young musicians
2. Advanced Performance Workshop for intermediate, classical and jazz pianists
3. Professional Teacher Development Workshop

• Along with a daily schedule of classes, rehearsals, lessons and master classes, students will be able to practice and rehearse from 8:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.
• Recitals by students and faculty will take place during the program and will culminate in two formal concerts at UM's Gusman Concert Hall on the final two days, both of which will be advertised and open to the public.
• University of Miami dormitory housing, dining facilities, and athletic facilities will be available to the public.
• The Olympic pool and sports facilities will be available to all participants and families.
• Miami's famous beaches, tropical gardens and multi-ethnic restaurants are all minutes away.

At Oakridge Music Studios (O Music Studios) we believe in balancing the traditional with the modern innovative techniques of learning.
